Bronze K1 junior team interviewed
By CSNNovember 16, 2009We asked Martin Halčin, Matúš Hujsa and Filip Machaj, the members of the Slovak bronze K1 men team at Junior European Championship 2009 in Liptovský Mikuláš, few questions about their season and plans for the next year.
What are you doing at this time?
Martin » I’m beginning preparation for next season and also I’m studying a lot , because I’d like to pass my leaving exam this school year.
Filip » Most of all I’m studying right now as I have leaving exams. That’s why I’m not training as much as I should.
Matúš » I just came from Rajecké Teplice where we had regeneration training camp.
My season was interesting overall I think it was the best one in my carrier
How did you relax after the last season?
Martin » Because of injury I spent lots of time on rehabilitation, I was practicing different types of sport and I was in Prague, more or less to relax there.
Filip » I know I had a lot of time to relax, but the time run so fast that I didn’t relax so much.
Matúš » After Europeans I was with friends at water festival Wave in Czech Republic for 5 days, but otherwise I didn’t have any free time.
How was your last season?
Martin » My season was interesting overall I think it was the best one in my carrier.
Filip » Nothing special, as usual.
Matúš » I’m satisfied because for the first time I get it into representation and I was racing at Junior European Championship where I finished 6th in K1 and 3rd in K1 teams.
How is going to be your winter preparation?
Martin » It’s gonna be as usual, it means a lot of running, cross-country skiing, gym and hockey.
Filip » Preparation will be normal, just doing nothing. No no, just kidding. I’ll be going to gym, lifting weights and sometimes swimming pool. All depends on school, how I’ll deal with it.
Matúš » Winter preparation will be hard, because I have leaving exams, but most of time I’ll spend in Bratislava and cross-country skiing in Tatry. In February I’ll probably go for training camp to Greece.
What are your plans for upcoming season?
Martin » The most important is to improve myself. I’ll be in category under 23 and I’d like to get to finals. And to get to senior team.
Filip » I’m not planning anything for next season. First of all I have to pass the exams!
Matúš » My plans are still improving myself and to train as much as it gets.
What other sports do you like?
Martin » Running, cross-country skiing, hockey, football, basketball, gymnastics, cycling and squash.
Filip » I like collective sports as football and hockey and then gym, running.
Matúš » Floorball, running, cycling and netball.
