Slafkovsky loves extreme
By CSNNovember 21, 2009How was the last season?
Last season was one of my best ones in my career. After 2nd place at European Championship I was twice on 2nd place at World cups and at Worlds we won gold in teams. Just the final in singles wasn’t good.
Where did you go after World Championship?
After Worlds in Seu I went to Charlotte in USA for a race and I stayed there for another 10 days with Ján Šajbidor and our girlfriends travelling around east coast.
I do alpinism, freeride, hockey and climbing on an artificial wall.
Did you have any rehabilitation after season?
I just came back from Trenčianske Teplice with Michal Martikán for fitness and rehabilitation program, where we are starting winter preparation.
How is gonna be your winter preparation?
Thanks to nice weather I still have some training on the water. But the winter preparation will be mostly the same as last years, be fit, strong and at the end of February I should fly to Australia to start paddling again and after that to Athens for few days.
What are you planning for next year?
I’d like to paddle to be happy and to make happy people around me who support me.
Where is your favourite course?
I like places where the water is wild like in Čunovo, Tacen, Athens, Bourg, Pau, Beijing…
How is school going?
This spring I finished university, so I don’ have to go to school anymore, but I ‘m doing websites for www.4d.sk.
We know you are fan of extreme sports, which ones do you do?
It depends on the season, but in the winter I do alpinism, freeride, hockey and climbing on an artificial wall.
Alexander Sašo Slafkovský, bronze medalist from European Championship in Nottingham, talks about his season.
