Czech paddler of the year 2009

28th of November, in Olomouc was the best Czech paddler of the year 2009 announced. Paddler of the year became Vavřinec Hradílek from USK Praha, who won European Championship under 23 and K1 teams in World Championship in Seu. The second finished downriver C2 Lukáš Uncajtik – Marek Rygel, who at European Championship got two silver medals in teams and bronze medal in sprint. On third finished two boats; C2 Volf – Štěpánek and Kateřina Vacíková, who got silver medal on downriver European Championships.

To hall of fame were added two famous paddlers from Czechoslovak sport: Vladimír Jirásek and Petr Sodomka. Vladimír Jirásek was racing in fifties and he won six times title World Champion. Petr „Kula“ Sodomka was racing in sixties and seventies years and he won eight title World Champion, 5 silver medals and 3 bronze ones.
