Winter report from Alexander Grimm
By Marianne StengleinMarch 7, 2010Bethlehem, South Africa – This year we were in South Africa with a large group. We flew on 12th of February and came back on 27th. There were 30 of us from German team and we stayed in Bethlehem. The weather was fine and we had good occasions for practise, quite contrary to the cold winter days in Augsburg (Germany).
In Bethlehem there are two choices of courses and this gave us in the two weeks the possibility to get varied trainings experience. Lot’s of endurance performance and practise and then we hold several competitions in this new canoe slalom season. That was the first analysis for us and very informative.
After the training we had the possibility to participate at a safari. With our own car we drove in the safari park and saw in “Itala Game Reserve” lots of wildlife. That was a great experience for us in our life and we enjoyed it really. The training practise in South Africa was good, too.
Five canoe slalom experts from Kanu Schwaben Augsburg club were in Bethlehem
